Forced Marriage in the Bride-Napping Case in Sumba-East Nusa Tenggara Linked with Positive Law in Indonesia

This study was aimed at revealing the customary and legal issues that were applied in practice of bride-napping Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The does not give women freedom to choose their life partner is a violation law could be punished according article 328 Criminal Code (KUHP). field research where researcher conducted direct interviews with informants elaborated data related literature. method used normative literature approach. focus this on ambiguity implementation laws regulations bride-napping. Indonesia has issued Law Republic (UU RI) No.1 1974 concerning Marriage which regulates rights obligations each person marriage.
